Dick Moore sends an email stating that the trip has had a smooth travel day and they are all resting in Carmichael tonight.

From Lindsay Harrop:
Day two on the trip, we woke up way too early in Carmichael and spent way too much time on the bus. We made a bunch of friendship bracelets and got not enough sleep. The only exciting thing so far was seeing a car on fire after stop #3.We pray nobody was hurt. We tried putting Mentos in Coke but it was anticlimactic. We are all really excited to cross the border tomorrow. Send happy thoughts our way and we’ll see you next week!

From Georgine Benner:
We arrived in Mexico safely today. We set up camp in the pouring rain and the blustery wind. By evening, the skies cleared and the stars came out. We ate and laughed and had fun together. We played soccer, had evening devotions with communion and then went to bed to get ready for our first day of work tomorrow. We are excited to get to the work sites and begin!

From Georgine Benner:
The weather for working today was 65 degrees with a light breeze. All job sites have unique challenges but we rocked it Jesus style and finished the concrete slabs on all three. First time ever! It is sub-actic at night. Send prayers for a warmer evening. We’re heading back to camp and looking forward to showers. Everyone safe and no injuries - but prayers for Trevor who stayed behind today to help recover from a bad cold.

From Caitlin Kerrigan:
Ola. Buenos dias. We spent another beautiful day framing the houses under a cloudless sky. We built many walls and Georgine, the birthday girl, was the saw champion. A few people suffered a little because of not drinking enough water and too much sun. (Georgine adds: but with electrolytes and rest, they’re all doing better.) Now we are heading back to camp to get a delicious dinner prepared by our amazing cook team.
Spirits are still high and I’m pretty sure they will stay high for the rest of the trip. I made several new friends, two 10 year old girls named Diana and Leticia. We had quite the adventure chasing a hen that escaped. On our site, we all bonded with the family and I even held baby Brittany.
It was a great day and I can’t wait til tomorrow and what it will hold. We are going to sleep well tonight!
Note: We are sorry there are no pictures to post yet. We are unable to get to an internet cafe and sending from cell phones isn’t working. Stay tuned!
